The GLVAC is proud
to support the education of our community's children. Each year we
award a hard working, Middle School and High School student with an award dedicated to the memory of Past Corps Member
& Past President (and former
Greenwood Lake Schools Science teacher) Waldemar Langert. |

Wally loved science
and helping others this award is presented to a graduating 8th
grader of 5th greenwood lake middle school who demonstrates a
passion for science. In 2005 we expanded the scholarship program to
recognize a graduating senior of George F. Baker High School. |

Ice Rescue.

Special Recognition |
- Special recognition was given
in December 2001 to Robert Ackerson, Michael King, Soren
Sorensen, and Raymond Milazzo by Corps Vice President Jacqueline
Maloney for their service to the World Trade Center Rescue
Operations from day four through day 5 at Battery Park and 2
Financial Plaza with 367-Delta redesignated as FDNY Fast Truck
Unit #73-B2.
- Special recognition was given
in June 2007 by St Anthony Hospital and "MedExcel, USA, Inc."
along with Certificates of Merit from Senator Thomas Morahan for
having provided outstanding care
for patients involved in a car/motorcycle accident in May 2006.
